Man arrested in most recent fatal Minneapolis shooting

July 29, 2015 at 1:34AM

Minneapolis police said Tuesday that they arrested a 23-year-old man in connection with a fatal shooting of another man earlier this week.

According to a news release, the man is being held without bail at the Hennepin County jail on probable cause of murder and attempted murder for the Monday morning shooting death of Omarr Deon Johnson, also 23.

Johnson, who had no listed address, died from multiple gunshot wounds, according to a Tuesday release by the Hennepin County medical examiner's office.

The shooting happened shortly after midnight Monday near 34th and Morgan avenues N. Police said that people in two cars were in a dispute and that they pulled over and shot at each other, resulting in one person being wounded and Johnson being found dead near the intersection.

The Star Tribune generally does not identify a suspect until he or she is charged.
