A 77-year-old man who lost control of his moped on a Minnetonka street has died, authorities said Tuesday.
Harold R. Schutrop crashed on Thursday at Excelsior Boulevard and Westmill Road, according to the Hennepin County Medical Examiner's Office.
Schutrop was hospitalized at HCMC and died there Saturday.
Witnesses told police that Schutrop was heading south down a hill on Westmill about a half-mile west of his home, when he turned left onto Excelsior and hit a curb, sending him into a ditch.
Schutrop was licensed to operate the moped and was wearing a helmet at the time, police added.
