All three Twins in Tuesday's All-Star Game played a role in the outcome, for better or worse. Here's what they had to say about the American League's 2-1 victory.
Miguel Sano gave the American League a 1-0 lead in the fifth inning when he took a big swing and blooped a single that landed near three National League players by the right-field foul line.
Closer Brandon Kintzler, added to the team as a replacement, came in and for the bottom of the fifth and retired all three batters he faced on routine ground balls, including a weak tap by slugger Giancarlo Stanton that ended the inning.
Ervin Santana followed Kintzler for the American League and gave up the only National League run of the game -- a line-drive home run to right-center field by St. Louis catcher Yadier Molina.
