Make it a locavore's Thanksgiving and shop at one of several Twin Cities farmers markets conducting special preholiday editions. The Maple Grove Farmers Market's indoor winter market is open from 3 to 6 p.m. today at the Maple Grove Community Center (12951 Weaver Lake Rd., Maple Grove, www.ci.maple-grove.mn.us). Sunday is the day, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., for the Kingfield Farmers Market (4244 Nicollet Av. S. at Rau + Barber, Minneapolis). The St. Paul Farmers Market (290 E. 5th St., stpaulfarmersmarket.com) is open 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday, as is the Midtown Farmers Market (22nd Av. S. and E. Lake St., Minneapolis, midtown farmersmarket.org), which will convene from 3 to 5:30 p.m. and will include several turkey vendors offering preordered Minnesota-raised birds; check the market's website for more information.
