The major thaw that is affected the North Central states since Jan. 12 willcome to an end this weekend.The last storm that comes into California on Thursday will have a dramaticimpact on the overall flow across North America later this week allowing muchcolder air to return from northern latitudes.
Along with the turn to much colder weather, the northern Plains can expect snowand some blowing snow.
Once established, the colder weather pattern will persist for the rest of themonth affecting not only the northern Plains, but the Midwest and East as well.
