Mahtomedi Realtor wins Good Neighbor Award

November 20, 2011 at 4:54AM

When LeRoy Bendickson is not selling houses, he's likely riding his bike to raise money for the Minnesota chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society and recruiting others to do it.

Over 21 years, Bendickson has completed more than 24 rides of 150 miles or longer and has assembled a 250-member team of riders who collectively have raised more than $1 million.

Realtor magazine named him one of five winners of the 2011 Good Neighbor Award, which honors Realtors who are dedicated to strengthening communities through volunteer work and helping those in need. Bendickson received his award Nov. 12 during the National Association of Realtors Conference and Expo in Anaheim, Calif. The award comes with a $10,000 donation to the Minnesota chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society and a $2,000 gift card to Lowe's.

The Mahtomedi man is an agent for Edina Realty. He will be featured in the November-December issue of Realtor magazine.
