Macalester College students protesting the school's decision to continue banking with Wells Fargo on Thursday blocked the five entrances to the building they've been occupying since Tuesday morning.
Protesters at the St. Paul liberal arts college announced on Facebook that administrators had scheduled a meeting between them and Brian Rosenberg, the college's president, on Friday.
"We hope that they will make the right decision this time," they wrote. "Go MAC!"
Students and activists have been protesting Wells Fargo, the nation's biggest residential mortgage lender, and its foreclosure practices. The group, called Kick Wells Fargo Off Campus, duct-taped signs to the ivy covering Weyerhaeuser Hall, home to the president's office. Since Tuesday morning, dozens of students have occupied the building, refusing to leave.
Officials recently announced that after "seriously considering" the group's request, "Macalester has decided to leave the current arrangement in place."
