Preview: With a road showdown looming against fellow unbeaten Los Angeles (11-0) on Tuesday, the Lynx (11-0) will try to avoid looking past the slumping Storm. The Lynx, who are coming an 87-63 victory over Indiana on Tuesday, outlasted the Storm 78-71 on May 22 in Seattle. The Lynx, who are 2-3 in their past five trips to Seattle, were 4-1 against the Storm in 2015, but the Storm won 78-64 in Seattle in the regular-season finale. The Storm (4-8) is coming off an 88-79 loss in Dallas on Thursday, its fourth loss in five games.
Players to watch: Lynx F Maya Moore had 17 points and nine rebounds and C Sylvia Fowles had 15 points and eight rebounds to pace the Lynx in the first meeting between the two teams. Moore (19.8 points per game) has scored in double figures in 10 of Minnesota’s 11 games. The Storm has been led by G Jewell Loyd, last year’s WNBA rookie of the year, and rookie F Breanna Stewart. Loyd is averaging 16.9 points per game and Stewart is averaging 16.3. Stewart scored 29 in Seattle’s loss Thursday.
Numbers: Two steals by Lynx guard Jia Perkins in the victory over Indiana on Tuesday pushed her career total to 581 — sixth-best in WNBA history. The Lynx are 6-0 on the road this season, the second-longest road winning streak in team history.
