Aboard the International Space Station, an astronaut's life is work, exercise, rest, repeat. But what if your chance of having the right stuff for NASA is, to say the least, minimal? Aurora Station, billed as the "first luxury hotel in space," may be for you. Houston-based Orion Span hopes to launch the modular station in late 2021 and welcome its first guests the following year. The platform would orbit 200 miles above Earth, offering six guests 384 sunrises and sunsets as they race around the planet for 12 days at incredibly high speeds. However, a 12-day stay starts at $9.5 million per person, or about $791,666 a night.
Test your dog expertise and help science
One of the favorite pastimes of dog people is guessing a mutt's ancestry. Now all self-proclaimed experts have a chance to prove their mettle. The newly released MuttMix survey — run by the Darwin's Dogs program at the Broad Institute in Cambridge, Mass., a center for genome studies, and the International Association of Animal Behavior Consultants — tests how good you are at figuring out what a mutt is made of. The Darwin's Dogs program is attempting to draw on dog owners to build a database of purebred and mixed breed dogs. Test your knowledge at darwinsdogs.org.
