Once in the spring and once in the fall, MnDOT shuts down the Lowry Hill Tunnel for cleaning and make repairs. The fall shut down comes from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. both Monday and Tuesday.

That means traffic on westbound I-94 will be directed off the freeway at the Hennepin/Lyndale Avenue exit and will follow the Prohibited Vehicle Route. Eastbound traffic will also use the Prohibited Vehicle Route and directed off the freeway via Hennepin/Lyndale as well.

Even though this happens overnight, the backups can get bad, especially in the hours between 10 p.m. and midnight, so avoid the area unless you have time to kill.

A number of other projects could hamper your movements around the metro. Here is where you'll find lane restrictions on Monday.

Prepare for some delays on I-35W in both directions between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. daily through Thursday between University Avenue and 11th Avenue. There will be alternating lane closures.

The Mendota Bridge will have alternating lane closures from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. That will impact traffic on westbound Hwy. 55 and Hwy. 5

In the west metro, eastbound Hwy. 7 will be down to a single lane between Texas Avenue and Wooddale Avenue in St. Louis Park. That will be in place from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday and Tuesday.

Crews will be doing drain repair on Cedar Avenue between 66th Street and the Crosstown from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday. The left lane will be closed.

Construction work on northbound Hwy. 169 will have the highway reduced to a single lane between Valley View Road and Londonderry Drive in Edina from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday and Tuesday.

It's MnPASS antenna repair that will have westbound 394 closed from 8 p.m. to 2 a.m. Monday night into Tuesday at Hwy. 169.

On Hwy. 100, both directions will be down to one lane from 57th Avenue to France Avenue in Brooklyn Center. That will run from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. Monday through Thursday nights.

Be ready for delays on southbound Hwy. 51/Snelling Avenue in the Midway area. The left lane between St. Anthony Avenue and Concordia Avenue will be closed at 9 a.m. The ramp from westbound I-94 and the ramp from Highway 51/Snelling Avenue to eastbound I-94 will close.

As an eviction crisis has seemed increasingly likely this summer, everyone in the housing market has made the same plea to Washington: Send money — lots of it — that would keep renters in their homes and landlords afloat.
