A ribbon cutting and party is set for Oct. 27

While Twin Cities roads are accident and incident free at the moment, here's some news that might make drivers in north Minneapolis happy.

Hennepin County officials are planning a grand opening of the Lowry Avenue Bridge on Oct. 27.The party will run from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.

With the Plymouth Avenue Bridge shut down, an east-west route over the Mississippi River is desperately needed.

The Lowry Bridge was closed in 2008, so it's been a long four years without it.
