Lowry and Boone Avenue bridges over I-94 closed for repairs

Commuters who use the Lowry Avenue bridge over I-94 are on detour today and that will continue through Sept. 1.

Commuters who use the Lowry Avenue bridge over I-94 are on detour today and that will continue through Sept. 1.

The bridge connecting north Minneapols and northeast Minneapolis is closed as MnDOT does repairs to the deck and bridge joints.

The detour: Westbound Lowry Avenue traffic will be detoured to southbound Washington Avenue, westbound 26th Avenue and northbound Lyndale Avenue. Motorists traveling eastbound on Lowry Avenue will be detoured to southbound Lyndale Avenue, eastbound 26th Avenue and northbound Washington Avenue.

The Boone Avenue bridge over I-94 in Brooklyn Park also is closed until Sept. 1 for repairs. Here is that detour: Northbound traffic will use eastbound I-94, northbound Hennepin County Road 81 and westbound I-94. Motorists traveling southbound on Boone will be detoured to westbound I-94, southbound Highway 169 and eastbound I-94.
