September 5, 2010 at 7:25PM

Noticeably low humidity will hold sway over much of the South on Labor Day.The core of driest air will spread over Kentucky and Tennessee, reachingsouthward over much of Alabama, Mississippi and Georgia.

Moderately dry air will spill over the Appalachians and toward the coasts ofVirginia and the Carolinas.

Even northwestern Florida will get somewhat of a break in the humidity, howevershort-lived.

To be sure, the South will not be cool, although the morning will berefreshing. Highs will be 90 F and above as far north as Arkansas, Tennesseeand South Carolina.

However, although sunshine will be strong, the break in humidity will keepapparent temperatures at moderate levels for late summer in these areas.
