PORTLAND, Ore. – Minnesota United FC unveiled the long-awaited broadcast deal Thursday for its first season in Major League Soccer barely 24 hours before its first match.

After the Loons season begins with two nationally televised games, local fans can tune in to Ch. 29 on TV and 1500-AM (KSTP) on radio starting March 18 when the team plays at Colorado Rapids.

Play-by-play commentator Callum Williams and color commentator Kyndra de St. Aubin will call United's season opener at 8:30 p.m. Friday at Portland via a one-time radio broadcast on KTMY-FM 107.1. The game will air on FS1.

The March 12 home opener against Atlanta United is on ESPN2.

United announced its commentating trio of Williams, de St. Aubin and former player Jamie Watson as sideline reporter in mid-January. It has had a broadcast deal in the works for a while.

Ch. 29 showed all of United's games last season in the North American Soccer League, while 1500-AM represents the first radio partnership in the club's history.

Chris Lindholm, United's TV play-by-play announcer from 2010-16, will act as in-studio host on radio.
