A 27-year-old man with a long rap sheet has been arrested and accused of sexually assaulting a 23-year-old St. Cloud woman.

The St. Cloud man was arrested Wednesday and held in the Stearns County jail on suspicion of first-degree criminal sexual conduct, domestic assault and third-degree assault.

Police in St. Cloud have yet to reveal the circumstances of the allegations, other than to say the man and the woman "have been involved in a significant relationship," said Sgt. Martin Sayer.

Police said they arrested the man after officers were called to St. Cloud Hospital.

His criminal history in Minnesota includes convictions for a host of felonies, including domestic abuse, domestic assault, fleeing police, forgery, damage to property and receiving stolen property.
