"SciGirls," the locally produced, Emmy-award winning series that encourages young girls to embrace science, will get a second season thanks to a major grant. The show landed a $2.78 million National Science Foundation Grant.

"In a time of budget challenges, this grant is a testimony to the high caliber of TPT's work," said Richard Hudson, the executive producer of TPT's science programming.

"SciGirls" won an Emmy earlier this year under the category of "New Approaches."
