Local teens win national award for radio work

MPR helps students tell moving stories

A group of local teens will be in Washington DC Tuesday to receive an award for outstanding radio work. The Youth Series from MPR took first place in the audio category for the Casey Awards, presented by the Journalism Center on Children and Families. The series was headed by MPR news producer Sasha Aslanian who guided six high-school and college-age reporters from diverse backgrounds tell first-person stories on issues of social importance.
