Vikings close regular season today against Lions

January 2, 2011 at 3:42PM

DETROIT -- Hello from Ford Field, the Vikings home away from home.

The Vikings will play their second game in Detroit this season today. The first, of course, came in mid-December when the Metrodome roof collapsed and forced their home game against the New York Giants to be moved here.

The Vikings will close the regular season today against the Lions. It's uncertain whether Brett Favre will be able to play in his final game before retirement. ESPN reported that Favre passed his initial concussion test on Saturday but that coach Leslie Frazier said it remains doubtful that he will play.

Favre needs to pass a conditioning test too before he is cleared to play. We will let you know if he comes out for early warmups.

This should be an interesting day with Favre's final game and possible developments regarding Frazier and the head coaching job. Frazier and the team have had serious discussions about removing the interim label so we'll see if that story develops more today.

We will have inactives at 10:30 a.m. central so check back for updates.
