Lisa See, Roy Blount, Jr., coming for Talk of the Stacks

Popular library program adding two authors this summer

Two bonus Talk of the Stack appearances have been scheduled for June and July--authors Lisa See and Roy Blount Jr. See is the author of six novels, including "Shanghai Girls" and "The Secret Fan." She writes for Vogue, the Los Angeles Times Magazine and the Washington Post Book World. In 2001 she was named National Woman of the Year by the Organization of Chinese American Women, and in 2003 she was honored with the Chinese American Museum's History Makers Award. Her new book, "Dreams of Joy," is a sequel to "Shanghai Girls." See will be at the Central Library, 300 Nicollet Mall, Minneapolis, at 7 p.m. Thursday, June 16. The prolific and funny Roy Blount Jr. is the author of 22 books. He is a regular on National Public Radio's quiz show, "Wait, Wait, Don't Tell Me," His new book, "Alphabetter Juice, or, The Joy of Text," explores language beyond his previous book, "Alphabet Juice." He will be at the Central Library at 7 p.m. Tuesday, July 19. Both appearances are free and open to the public. Doors open at 6;15 p.m.
