Letter of the day: Winners should represent everyone, get the job done

November 4, 2010 at 12:12AM

Another election, and the victors on both sides of the political spectrum are touting "the people are back in power" and "America has sent a message to Washington." Even if a candidate was elected with 60 percent of the vote, what about the other constituents? If I am in a room of 10 people and four of them disagree with me, do I just ignore them? What about the people who did not vote because they are sick and tired of the far right and far left? I am a moderate, independent voter who has cast ballots for Republicans, Democrats and independents. I am weary of radicals on all sides telling me that I am not a "true American" if I don't agree with their views. I am "people," too, and they are not representing me. Get moderate and get some work done. MARK FROST, APPLE VALLEY

FILE -- A rent deposit slot at an apartment complex in Tucker, Ga., on July 21, 2020.
