In 1996 Minnesota's own Coen brothers produced and directed the movie "Fargo." The movie created a lot of negative reactions -- in Minnesota. It was highly acclaimed by the rest of the world as a great movie and was nominated for five Oscars. However, many Minnesotans didn't appreciate the movie, saying it made them look stupid. "We don't talk like that," we said.

Ironically, a few months later many of these same people elected Jesse Ventura as governor. A satirical comedy/drama couldn't possibly compare to the humiliation that we drew from the rest of the world by electing a former professional wrestler as governor.

Nonetheless, a recent poll showed that 23 percent of the citizens would vote for Ventura if he were to enter the Senate race. Tell me, do you still think it's the movie that makes us look stupid to the rest of the world?
