Letter of the day: Politicians may posture for '12, but media don't have to bite

Please stop! Every day I read about someone and the 2012 election. Some day(s) it's about Palin, or Pawlenty, and today it's Huckabee. You need to give your readers a break. This last election cycle was way too long -- and most of us are glad for the reprieve. For the media to start posting stuff about 2012 is simply wrong. Stop. In fact, if you do want to talk about the future, why not get on a legislative bandwagon to pass laws restricting election talk (campaigning) until six months before the next election. That's plenty long enough to listen/read the negative stuff about all the candidates. JIM STROMBERG, WHITE BEAR LAKE
