Letter of the Day (Oct. 5): Good Samaritan

I wish I could personally thank the person who anonymously returned my missing wallet without seeking a reward.

Last Sunday, while I was at the Quarry Shopping Center in Minneapolis, my wallet fell out of my jacket pocket in the parking lot. Once I realized it, I retraced all of my steps and checked with every store, but it was nowhere to be found. Fearing the worst, I immediately went home to cancel all credit cards and cover all my bases.

But on Tuesday, I received a package in the mail. There was no return address — just the message "Surprise Inside!" written on the back. I opened it to find my wallet, containing all of its contents: credit cards, money, even my shopping list.

No note or name was included, but I wish I could personally thank the person who did this. It is good to know that there are still good people out there. Thank you!
