Letter of the Day (Nov. 19): Campaign finances

If all politicians running for office donated half of the money raised for their campaigns to the state they're running in, there would be plenty of money for funding any number of programs.

Education, infrastructure and other programs could benefit from their "donations."

It's disgraceful for these people to spend millions on political campaigns. Instead of giving five bucks to a politician, give it to your local school or to a charity that helps your less fortunate neighbors.
