Letter of the day: Little difference between Sack cartoon and attack mailings

November 12, 2010 at 1:02AM

The irony is striking. The Star Tribune ran a Nov. 11 Opinion Exchange commentary, "Political attack mailings seem to have worked, and that's scary," which bemoaned the use of personal attacks made upon DFL politicians and rightfully called for "basic human decency and civility." On the page directly opposite this article is a cartoon by Steve Sack that refers to former President George W. Bush as a "dummy." Basic human decency and civility, indeed! This newspaper's double standards continue to confound me. PAUL W. FLOWER, BROOKLYN CENTER
