Monday's U.S. Supreme Court decision on the Arizona immigration law upheld the legality of law enforcement asking people to prove they are in this country legally. We should now ask ourselves what group of people we suspect of being in the United States illegally.

If you were to say persons of Mexican or Hispanic decent, you wouldn't be so wrong. After all, according to the Department of Homeland Security, persons of Hispanic decent were the largest group of people (more than 600,000) in this country illegally. But illegal immigration is not limited to Hispanics.
In 2010, the DHS reported that more than 2,500 illegal immigrants to this country were of European decent. With these statistics in mind, everyone in the United States should be considered under suspicion when it comes to being in this country illegally, including our elected officials.
As such, we should get used to hearing this phrase, "Papers, please."
