I went to my first Minnesota Lynx game on the home opener. I was curious to see how good the team is, especially new member Maya Moore.

I had seen her giving an interview or two and was very impressed with how humble, mature and sensible she was at such a young age -- and with all that talent. The Lynx did not disappoint.

This is a team that has a new superstar and some very talented players to fill out its starting lineup. They played hard at both ends of the floor, showed that the team is at least nine-deep in talent and were a lot of fun to watch.

Moore demonstrated a complete game for a rookie. She showed why she averaged only one loss per season in high school and college.

And when the Lynx honored Patty Wetterling during a time out, Maya came over as Patty was leaving the court and put a hand on her shoulder. Any parent who wants their child to see a wonderful role model should attend a Lynx game.

The bonus is you will get to see a very talented group of athletes who play for a modest sum of money (compared to their male counterparts). These women are playing because they truly love the game.

PRYCE SCORE, KENSINGTON, MINN.
