I was heartened by the article "Their paychecks stopped, but their work went on" (July 18), and by the time I got to the end my only question was how to get dedicated, caring, selfless, concerned-for-the-greater-good social service providers like Roxanne Williams, Sherry Glanton and Deborah Delaney elected to office before the next budget needs to be negotiated? MARILAURICE HEMLOCK, MINNEAPOLIS
