What a sad irony that while Texas ranks last in health care, its governor, Rick Perry, turns down federal expansion of Medicaid and refuses to create a state-run health care insurance exchange ("Perry says no on two health plan elements," July 10). For the sake of politics, Perry lets down the people of his state who could benefit from improved health care coverage. Don't expect improvement in Texas' health care ranking any time soon. Meanwhile, Minnesota enjoys the top spot ("Minnesota health care ranked No. 1," July 10).
