After reading the following headlines on Page B4 of the July 28 Star Tribune, I had to ask myself: Do I really live here? "Boy tells how lawyer groomed him for sex over four years"; "City to study ceasefire model to cut shootings"; "2 teens accused in park slaying"; "School chief accused of groping teen"; "Arrest made in shooting death at Minneapolis gas station"; "Suit to accuse Christian retreat leader of sex abuse," and "Bathroom assault of 11-year-old brings 5-year sentence." All on one page! I won't even elaborate on the Page B2 stories "Naked man found badly burned on street in Virginia, Minn.," or "Two Onamia men charged in death of Mille Lacs Band of Ojibwe teen." What is happening to our society that these and other horrific crimes have become daily occurrences? Most great empires in history have been destroyed from within. Are we next?
