Is it not reprehensible to destroy historic houses of worship to make room for parking and other Vikings stadium-related development ("Intersection of church and stadium," Feb. 3)?
Where is our value system? Why should these beautiful churches be sacrificed for a football stadium?
Are the financial interests involved more important than our spiritual needs?
When our ancestors fled to America, was it not often for religious freedom? When many of them later journeyed west, did they not concentrate on erecting churches and schools in their villages?
Is this a testimony as to how the people of our country are evolving?
Are we substituting sports and huge financial gain for faith? Are we worshiping the athletes and their performance?
