Thank you for your heartwarming story about the Fasching family ("Intensive care," Dec. 17).

Although Mallory and Cooper Fasching's life expectancies are short as a result of their rare cell disorder, their lives undoubtedly have been enriched by a loving and caring family that must have a strong sense of faith and purpose.

Hudson Fasching really has his priorities in order and can serve as an example to aspiring athletes. He has a unique, caring attitude that should be an example for all us, especially during this most important holiday season.

My thoughts and prayers go out to the Fasching family. To Hudson, who is dealing with issues that most of us will never face: Whatever path you choose, I am sure you will be richly rewarded.
