My husband and I traveled to Minnesota for the first time for the St. Thomas vs. Hobart College Division 3 playoff game Dec. 1 in St. Paul. And I must say I never expected such treatment.

We were greeted warmly by everyone. Folks went out of their way to introduce themselves, to start conversations with us and to make us feel welcome.

Even at St. Thomas, the opposing fans smiled easily, were personable and showed interest in Hobart. I am not exaggerating when I write that this was the most sincere and friendliest place we have ever visited.

I would like to express my gratitude for a wonderful experience. And for all those who suggested the walleye at the Twin City Grill at the Mall of America, you all know your stuff. It was absolutely delicious.

As an eviction crisis has seemed increasingly likely this summer, everyone in the housing market has made the same plea to Washington: Send money — lots of it — that would keep renters in their homes and landlords afloat.
