Is there a double standard in news reporting about presidential activities? Whenever President George W. Bush even took a day off at his Texas ranch, he was criticized by the news media.

When President Obama is on an Hawaiian vacation and there is a major airline crisis, he makes some statements to the press and then continues his vacation with very little criticism.
