Didn't see this coming. Hollywood Reporter reports:

He didn't say what she'll be playing, but everyone's pretty sure it's Catwoman. You'll remember Michelle Pfeiffer played Catwoman in that mess of a sequel to the 1990 Batman movie. Her origin was rather straightforward: she was thrown out the window by her boss, went home, drank a lot of milk straight from the bottle, spray-painted her wall and made a costume out of shiny patent leather, all because she had been licked back to life by mystical cats. Well, cats, anyway. I expect Nolan will come up with something better. As for Bane, no one who doesn't read the comics knows who he is, so it's reassuring to see we're not going through the paces, trotting out all the classic villains with clever updated casting suggested by brain-dead producers Adam Sandler as the Riddler! Dear heavens no. Why are we looking forward to the next Batman movie? Because there's no way Adam Sandler would have been the Riddler, that's why.

I used that picture of the lovely Ms. Hathaway because it's just so damned odd, and almost seeks Jokeresque in the Cesar Romero sense. Lot of features for that amount of face.
