Twitter's blast from the past

Algorithm. Savvy social media users hate that word. It's what makes Facebook's news feed so nonsensical. And now it has come to Twitter's timeline. Twitter has always been about living in the moment — but its new algorithm places old tweets it thinks you'll find important at the top of your timeline. Call it the Facebooking of Twitter. Or just call it annoying. Luckily, you can shut it off: Simply go to settings, click on "timeline personalization" and choose your own destiny.
