Welcome to my Club Outdoors blog. I am excited to be one of the Pro Staff contributors.

My wife, Betsy, and I own Northwoods Bird Dogs, a grouse dog breeding and training facility located in east central Minnesota. We specialize in pointing dog breeds, but because we're also true Minnesotans, we own a Labrador retriever, too! Please visit our Northwoods Bird Dogs website for more information and check out our Northwoods News Blog.

Training dogs on wild birds, particularly ruffed grouse and woodcock, is my passion and my particular area of expertise is training pointing breeds for hunting and field trial competition. Our location is ideal for abundant wild bird populations.

I am thrilled to share information and experiences with you on bird dog training, breeding, bird hunting, field trialing, training techniques, equipment and other pertinent topics. I'm also interested in your feedback so please let me know your comments and questions.

As an eviction crisis has seemed increasingly likely this summer, everyone in the housing market has made the same plea to Washington: Send money — lots of it — that would keep renters in their homes and landlords afloat.
