It's a logic that could only exist at the legislature. Only inside the altered reality of the Capitol would it make sense to divert funds that 60% of the public voted for to a purpose that more than 60% of Minnesotan's oppose. But that's the proposal from Rep. Kurt Daudt, R-Crown, an Assistant Majority Leader in the Minnesota House. He wants to take public money from the voter approved Legacy Amendment that is meant to protect and preserve Minnesota's arts, culture and history, and use it to build a new Vikings Stadium.

So here is the question: If we let politicians like Rep. Daudt get away with something that clearly violates the intent of Minnesota voters, why would they stop there? It is a ball "park", isn't it? Why not have the DNR pay for the stadium using the Legacy's Parks and Trails fund? It makes just as much sense.

Or perhaps Rep. Daudt and legislative leaders would like to swipe the Legacy's Outdoor Heritage Fund and use that for the stadium. After all, it will be prime habitat for Eagles, Cardinals and Panthers.

Don't think, "at least they can't take the clean water money". Using "legislature logic", one only needs to remember that the new Twins stadium has a state of the art water collection and purification system.

Clearly this is ridiculous. It's up to all of us to very clearly say "no". Take the chance to "say no" by clicking here.
