Legislating done; campaigning begins

The House and Senate have adjourned

May 17, 2010 at 4:12PM

The Legislature has gone home.

Shortly before 11 a.m. the House and Senate adjourned the one day special session with the budget deal headed to the governor's desk.

"Let's get home!" said Sen. Jim Vickerman, DFL-Tracy. He is not running for re-election but most of his colleagues are.

Now most lawmakers -- including gubernatorial candidate House Speaker Margaret Anderson Kelliher, DFL-Minneapolis, and Rep. Tom Emmer, R-Delano -- can go sell their work to voters.
