Thought we might be through with these snow maps, didn't you? No such luck.This is March, and sometimes a section of the country can be clobbered by aparalyzing snowstorm. This one won't fit into the blizzard category, but itwill have a disruptive effect on travel across a fairly large expanse from theDakotas to New England.

The snowstorm is being caused by an intense clash of air masses. Looking at thepicture below, one could say that the blossoming spring season is running headon into the residuals of winter.

Wednesday, there will be an astounding contrast in weather over a relativelyshort distance. In Kentucky and Tennessee, temperatures will head toward the70s, and strong thunderstorms are likely during the afternoon. From Michigan toNew York, it will be snowing with temperatures at the freezing mark.
