Latest Snowfall Forecast Plains to East Coast

Hot off the press here is our most up-to-date snowfall map for the big winterstorm that is about to hit. The storm will impact the southern Plains Thursdayand Thursday night then dump on areas as far east as West Virginia Friday. Therest of the central Atlantic region can expect the snow to move in Friday nightand persist through Saturday morning.For most, this will be a moderate to heavy snowfall with accumulations from 3to 10 inches. In the blue bands shown on this map, a foot of snow marks thevery top end of the range.

Though not a crippling blizzard, enough snow will fall to cause major traveldelays and a myriad of cancellations.

Equally disruptive, and in some cases even worse, will be the icing that occursfrom Texas, across the Tennessee Valley to the Carolinas. Within this zone,expect a glaze of ice on the highways and numerous power outages.
