A snowstorm will move across the eastern Great Lakes region today and intoCanada by Tuesday morning. The heaviest snow behind the storm will fall todayfrom eastern Michigan through southern Ontario, where 3-6 inches willaccumulate. Detroit will receive an additional 2-4 inches of snow.A general 1-3 inches will fall through Tuesday around portions of the GreatLakes and in the Appalachians. The mountains of West Virginia and the SmokyMountains of North Carolina will even have up to half a foot of snow.
Travel will be slowed with slick roads even where a wintry mix is expected,so travelers and commuters are urged to take caution.
