Don't blame it on a sideman or a roadie. Jackson Browne is touring solo so he is the one who is ill. That's why he has postponed tonight's concert at the State Theatre and rescheduled it May 29 for 7 p.m.

The stage was all set up (with all 19 guitars) Wednesday but Browne woke up with a sore throat, a doctor was dispatched to his hotel and the concert was called off.

Tickets will be honored for the make-good show. However, refunds are available at place of purchase. May 29 is not only Memorial Day weekend but also the day of the popular Soundset hip-hop festival at Canterbury Park and KQRS' Rock Stock show at Midway Stadium with Cheap Trick, Styx and Badfinger.

A limited number of Browne tickets are on sale for the May 29 date.

FILE -- A rent deposit slot at an apartment complex in Tucker, Ga., on July 21, 2020. As an eviction crisis has seemed increasingly likely this summer, everyone in the housing market has made the same plea to Washington: Send money — lots of it — that would keep renters in their homes and landlords afloat.
