Lakeville Area Public Schools' superintendent announces plans to resign by the end of the school year. Lisa Snyder will formally announce her resignation at the Nov. 22 school board meeting.

Snyder's last day with the district is set for June 30. Snyder joined the district in 2011.

In the coming weeks, the school district will decide on how to move forward with its search process.

"Please know that I am fully committed to the work in the months ahead and will support you in any way throughout the remainder of the school year," she said in a letter to staff. "Please let me know how I can continue to support you and your work."

Snyder, a Winona native, came to Lakeville from Merrill Area Public Schools, where she served for two years as the district's superintendent. Prior to that, Snyder worked as a high school English teacher.

Snyder took over for Gary Amoroso during a time when the district had closed an elementary school and cut jobs in order to manage a tight budget.
