After Monday's loss in Winnipeg, coach Bruce Boudreau said the team would re-evaluate when he was specifically asked about Quincey following a 7-2 loss to the Jets. Quincey was a -3 and had 16 penalty minutes in the game.

Quincey will be on waivers 24 hours and, if unclaimed, can be reassigned.

Defenseman Jared Spurgeon (groin injury) will miss at least Thursday's game against Vegas and Saturday's against St. Louis, meaning young blueliners Gustav Olofsson and Mike Reilly will be counted on.

"We're trying to get the right fit in that third pairing...I would really like to see what these young players can do," general manager Chuck Fletcher said after Wednesday's practice.

In the meantime, Zach Parise skated before the Wild practice for the first time since his back surgery Oct. 24. The best hope for Parise's return to the ice at that point was eight weeks, so it's now exactly five weeks. He skated solo and certainly isn't ready for any contact for another extended period.

The team posted a video of Parise skating and talking about his surgery.
