Much of the Southwest remains in a severe drought. Though a scattering ofthunderstorms will dampen the ground from New Mexico to western Kansas thisevening, no significant drought relief is in sight.Rainfall totals since the beginning of April are worse than pitiful. Look atHouston, where only 0.18 of an inch has fallen during the past 60 days. Normalrainfall for the period is 8.75 inches. That's what I call a bad drought.
