A major spring snowstorm will pull out of northern New England Friday night, but will continue to dump on Atlantic Canada. Heaviest snowfall (6-12 inches)Friday night and Saturday will be from New Brunswick to southeastern Quebec andnorthern Newfoundland. In the wake of this storm, cold air is emptying out of eastern Canada, and theentire Northeast and central Atlantic region can expectmuch-chillier-than-normal weather Saturday.

Watch what happens Monday, though. A much warmer air mass will bust northward, pushing temperatures into the 70s as far north as West Virginia andMaryland.

Note: The snowfall map below is in metric because that's the scale they use upnorth. It's easy to convert between the two scales. Just remember that thereare approximately 2.5 centimeters in an inch. So, 6 inches of snow converts toroughly 15 centimeters (2.5 X 6 = 15).
