The Pacific storm track will continue to be aimed at the West Coast for days,with a big storm due to come into California later in the weekend. Sunday, itwill start to rain hard from San Francisco down along the coast, andthunderstorms with hail can be expected in and around the Los Angeles area. SanDiego will experience similar weather later in the day and at night.Heavy snow falling in the Sierra Nevada will persist into Friday night with 12or more inches in the passes. After a lull in the storm Saturday, more heavysnow will fall in the Sierra Sunday and Sunday night, and that could possiblyeven be a 2- to 3-footer.

Sunday night and Monday, the mountains of Southern California will also turncold enough for accumulating snow.

The active storm track into the West Coast will persist through the better partof next week, with much-above-normal precipitation expected in central andnorthern California.
