It remained brutally cold Tuesday across the Midwest and East, and the GreatLakes snowbelts continued to get dumped on.The question is, can it get worse? I'm here to tell you that it can. Two stormsare forthcoming, and both will impact the weather in the East one way oranother.

The first storm is a clipper coming out of Alberta, Canada. That system willcause light to moderate snow from North Dakota into Minnesota Wednesday. Thesnow will expand across Illinois, Indiana and southern Ohio Wednesday night andwill reach West Virginia by early Thursday. During Thursday, it will also snowin Virginia, Maryland and maybe Delaware. This will not be a major snowstorm, but up to a few inches are possible.

South of the snow area, a band of sleet and freezing rain could make roadsslick from central and southern Illinois to southern Virginia and western NorthCarolina.

The second storm will come later in the week, and it could have a big impact onthe weather from Virginia to New England. This system will take shape over theSoutheast Friday then turn up the coast this weekend.

I have to be honest. Right now, I can't tell you how much snow this secondstorm is going to bring. That being said I sure would like to be in my hometown(Newtown, Conn.) this weekend. If there is going to be a big dump, that will bethe place that gets it.
