With the 2010 election almost behind us, pollsters have already turned their eyes on 2012, where there's good news for at least one Minnesotan who'll be seeking office (and it's not Gov. Tim Pawlenty).

Sen. Amy Klobuchar, up for reelection in 2012, has the second-highest approval numbers among 18 senators facing a 2012 race, according to a Public Policy Polling survey released Monday.

The Minnesota Democrat's 53-32 approval-disapproval figure trails only Sen. Olympia Snowe of Maine, one of the most moderate Republicans in the Senate, whose plus-22 rating leads Klobuchar by a single point.

At the bottom of the list is independent Sen. Joe Lieberman of Connecticut, who caucuses with the Democrats, with nearly the inverse of Klobuchar at a 33-54 favorability ranking.

Of course, Klobuchar's numbers are actually down from a year ago: Public Policy Polling clocked her at 62-25 approval-disapproval in June 2009, which the polling group said was their highest favorability rating for a senator that year.
